Kim Oliver, Plum Spring Clinic Director of Infusion Services, is a nurse with 18 years of experience in a variety of settings. She obtained her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Kim has bedside nursing experience in adult and pediatric emergency departments and acute care case management. Almost 11 years ago, she and her husband started a healthcare consulting firm. Kim was frustrated with the inefficiencies of the healthcare system and desired to help make positive change. She worked as a management consultant and interim director at various hospitals across the country in addition to being part owner of the company. She had her twin boys two and a half years ago, and now embarks on an exciting new path in her nursing career with the Plum Spring Clinic.
Having spent most of her nursing career in acute care hospitals, Kim is pleased to have the
opportunity to work with a holistic outpatient clinic. Most of Kim’s previous experience with holistic
care has largely been through volunteer work. From 2000-2013 she volunteered with a camp that supports children who have or have had cancer. This experience allowed her to observe firsthand how camp, which focuses a great deal on mind, body, and spirit, is just as important in the child’s treatment and healing as the medications they are receiving. It was awesome and inspiring to see the transition
the children made, and to witness part of their healing process. Likewise, in her transition to the Plum Spring Clinic team, she embraces the care of mind, body and spirit as equally important to our patients as their medication regimens.
I am passionate about a collaborative approach when working with patients. I see each patient as an individual and tailor care and support in such a way. I am very excited to bring the benefits of IV nutrition therapy, in conjunction with other therapies, to patients with cancer.
It’s great to be part of an expert team dedicated to bringing a holistic focus to all parts of a patient’s health journey.
