Nick Waring is the Patient Care Coordinator for Plum Spring Clinic. Originally born in Texas, he grew up in Raleigh and graduated from Georgetown University in 2016 as a pre-medical student with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. He then worked at the National Institutes of Health as a bioinformatics research fellow for a year before moving back to Raleigh. Nick is currently applying to medical school to start in the Fall of 2019.
Nick first met Dr. Sharp as a patient in 2005 after being hospitalized with Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, so he has personal experience with how effective functional medicine is. In his spare time, he enjoys lifting weights, learning about nutritional biochemistry, and playing with his dog Scout. He also serves as a medical scribe and is volunteering in the same-day surgery department at Duke Raleigh Hospital.
Says Nick: I am very excited to be working for Plum Spring Clinic before I go to medical school. I look forward to helping our patients as they work to achieve their health goals.
